In August 2021, Professor Basuthkar J Rao, formerly a Professor of Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati, was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of HCU. Prof. Rao has been recognized for his contributions to science and his efforts in setting up a state-of-the-art Covid Testing Centre at IISER Tirupati.
